Five people have been killed and five others wounded when bandits in their hundred invaded Adamawa village of Sabon Birni local government area of Sokoto State.
The Police Relations Officer Sokoto State Police Command¸ Abubakar Sadiq, confirmed the incident on Tuesday.
He said over one hundred suspected bandits on motorcycles invaded the village, ransacked houses and burnt six shops and eleven houses.
Sadiq said bandits also invaded Samaye village and rustled unspecified amounts of livestock and stole other valuables belonging to the villagers in the attack that occurred on Sunday.
He said the Police in the area reacted swiftly as soon as the report got to them, but were unable to make any arrest, adding that investigation is still ongoing.
