Two worshippers have been killed and many abducted in bandits attack on Baptist Church, Kakau Daji, Chikun local government area of Kaduna state.
The worshippers were attacked during the church’s Sunday service.
21st CENTURY CHRONICLE gathered that the bandits surrounded the church before they started shooting sporadically.
Spokesperson, Kaduna state police command, Mohammad Jalige, is yet to issue an official statement.
President of the Kaduna Baptist Convention, Ishaya Jangado, confirmed the attack. He said the exact number of people that were kidnapped yet to ascertain.
Also, chairman of the Kaduna state chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Joseph Hayab, said the attack as “another sad story of how deteriorating our insecurity has become”.
Chikun local government is among the areas where government shutdown telecommunications service as part of measures to fight banditry and kidnappings.
