Two people have been killed while several others were kidnapped when bandits attacked Garawa, Unguwar Dan Yaya and Doka villages in Giwa local government area of Kaduna state.
This happened a few hours after the Nigerian Air Force killed several bandits in air missions across Birnin Gwari, Giwa, Igabi and Chikun councils.
The state’s Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan said this in a statement on Monday.
He said investigations were ongoing on the Giwa incident, as security agencies have intensified patrols in the area.
He said the bandits attacked and killed two persons in a different location within the same area.
Aruwa said the Governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai, had expressed sadness at the reports, and prayed for the repose of the souls of the slain, while sending his condolences to their families.
