Two people have been killed and many others abducted in bandits attack on Marakawa village in Sabon Birni local government area of Sokoto state.
Sources said the bandits had earlier abducted four people during an attack on another community, known as Makuwana.
21st CENTURY CHRONICLE gathered that the two attacks took place in the community between Tuesday and Wednesday.
Sabon Birni local government has experienced rising cases of banditry in recent times. Over 80 people had been killed in the area in one night .
Residents of the area had written a letter to President Muhammadu Buhari and sought for his intervention, but despite the Federal Government intervention through deployment of security forces, bandit attacks in the community continue unabated.
Spokesperson of Sokoto Police Command, Sanusi Abubakar, did not respond to the calls put to his mobile phone to respond to the present bandit attack.
