At least 11 persons have been killed while several others severely injured when bandits stormed Bingi village of Maru local government area of Zamfara state Monday night.
A source, who is from Bingi but living in Gusau, Muhammadu Sani, told this reporter through telephone that the bandits were not more than 10 when they stormed the village.
“I know all the eleven people killed by the bandits. I was told by my grandfather this morning (Tuesday) that the bandits were not more than 10 people when they struck. All those killed were men while about fifteen were injured,” he said.
He added that the security agents stationed on the main road had difficulty accessing the village.
Those who were wounded, he said have been taken to the Federal Medical Center in Gusau.
Maru, Tsafe, Shinkafi and Anka local government areas are the worse hits in terms of bandits’ attacks in Zamfara state.
