Bandits have stormed Fankama community in Faskari local government area of Katsina state, abducted the village head, Ahmed Saidu, his wife and several others.
The attack took place Monday night.
Sources told 21st CENTURY CHRONICLE that no life was lost during the two-hour long attack.
Bahisulhaq Alhassan, a cousin to the monarch, told this newspaper in Katsina Tuesday afternoon that the remaining family of the traditional ruler have been evacuated to safety.
“We’ve not heard from them (kidnappers) yet but we’re hoping that they send a letter to the people of the community so that we know what they’re after,” he said.
Habib Daudawa, another indigine of the area living in Katsina metropolis, also confirmed the attack.
The state police command spokesperson, Gambo Isa didn’t respond to SMS and WhatsApp message over the incident.
