Gunmen have kidnapped a spare parts trader Paul Ndibusi Okula. after invading Tambuwal Motor Park around 8pm on Saturday in Tambuwal Local Government Area of Sokoto State
Tambuwal is the country home of Senator Aminu Waziri Tambuwal who is former governor of the state.
On arrival, the bandits shot in the air to scare residents of the community away, and thereafter attacked an automobile spare parts shop and abducted the owner,
They also wounded one other person currently receiving treatment at an undisclosed hospital.
Sources revealed that the kidnappers had wanted to abduct Okula’s father who was away at the time of their attack.
“They then went away with his son, Paul,” the source said.
The state police spokesperson, ASP Ahmed Rufa’i, said police were on the trail of the kidnappers.
“You know Tambuwal is a transit town between Sokoto and Kebbi States. We have informed police in the neighbouring communities in Kebbi State as the search continues,” he said.
