Bandits have abducted 10 villagers from three remote communities in Kajuru Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
The attacks occurred in the early hours of Wednesday, beginning around 2:00 a.m. when armed bandits invaded the Unguwan Yashi-Maraban Kajuru community and kidnapped six residents.
The victims were identified as God-Dream Ladan, Lady God-Dream, Philip Mudakas, Mercy Philip, Bitrus Philip, and Gmen Philip.
In Makyali village, two residents sustained gunshot wounds and are currently receiving medical treatment at Maraban Kajuru Hospital. The bandits also abducted two women.
At around 4:00 a.m., the attackers moved to Ungwan Mudi Doka, where they kidnapped two more people.
Stephen Maikori, the Acting District Head of Kufana who confirmed the incidents, lamented the resurgence of such attacks.
“Ten people have been taken away, with two injured now receiving treatment. The incident had been reported to security agencies” he said.
He further appealed for an intensified rapid security response and action to save lives and properties in this axis,” he said.
Attempts to reach the State Police Command Public Relations Officer, DSP Mansir Hassan, were unsuccessful.
