Bandits have gunned down six officials of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) in Sokoto state.
The officers were attacked at their duty post along Illela road, about two weeks ago.
The attack occurred around 7:50pm penultimate Sunday.
The acting Comptroller General, Mrs Caroline Wura-Ola Adepoju, said the officers tried their best to resist the ungodly forces.
“I am in Sokoto to bring the battle to bandits. They murdered two of my men in cold blood.
“The officers tried their best to resist the ungodly force,” she said.
She, however, said they would work in collaboration with other security agencies to fight them and pull them down.
21st CENTURY CHRONICLE learnt that one of the deceased was from Anka in Zamfara state while the other one was from Sokoto.
Mrs Adepoju while consoling the bereaved families, assured them that the killers would not go scot free.
She also visited the Illela border post to see for herself the situation there.
