Bandits have freed a young woman they kidnapped in Kasuwan Magani, Kajuru Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
The lady who is carrying a pregnancy made by the bandits spent about five months in captivity.
A former spokesperson to the late Kaduna State Governor, Patrick Yakowa, Reuben Buhari, announced this in a post shared on his verified Facebook page.
Buhari said the lady was among four others abducted when the bandits stormed a residence where she had been caring for her critically ill mother.
He said the gunmen abducted the victims into the bush, where they were held for several months under harsh conditions until a ransom was paid for their release.
After her release, Buhari said she was immediately taken to a hospital for urgent medical attention due to her frail condition.
He said the hospital confirmed her to be pregnant, a development reportedly linked to the abuse she suffered during her captivity.
He said due to her weak state, she required immediate stabilisation, including a blood transfusion, before further treatment could commence.
Buhari said the lady suffered deep traumatic, adding that many aspects of what victims face in captivity are often too distressing to recount in full.
The spokesperson of the State spokesperson, ASP Mansir Hassan, could not be reached for comment, as calls to his phone went unanswered.
