Thirty students abducted from the Federal Government College, Birnin Yauri, Kebbi State, have been released by their captors.
This comes four months after they were abducted by bandits in June. A policeman guarding the school was killed during the attack.
Authorities have yet to ascertain the exact number of those abducted by the bandits on that day.
Some of the students and teachers have since regained freedom.
Special Adviser on Media to the state Governor Atiku Bagudu of Kebbi, Yahaya Sarki, confirmed their release in a statement on Thursday.
He said efforts are ungoing to secure the release of the remaining students.
He said the student would undergo medical screening and support while being reunited with their families.
