Emir of Katsina Abdulmuminu Kabir Usman on Tuesday said bandits operating in the Northwest deserve nothing but death.
The emir disclosed this during a security stakeholders meeting in Katsina.
Governor Aminu Bello Masari, Minister of Information and Culture Lai Mohammed, Emir of Daura Umar Faruk Umar, among others have attended the meeting.
The emir said since the bandits have decided to go after people’s lives, they also “don’t deserve to live.”
Usman lamented the delay in prosecution and punishment of offenders, alleging that “this is not good in serving as deterrence to other criminals.”
He said governments at all levels must rise and punish the bandits accordingly. “No one would resort to banditry in the name of settling scores,” he said.
