Bandits on Tuesday, attacked Matane, the home country of the Secretary to the Government of Niger State, Ibrahim Ahmed Matane, torching houses and other properties.
Matane is in Mashegu, one of the local government areas under constant attacks by bandits.
The attackers reportedly burnt 20 houses, cars and rustled cattle.
It was not clear whether there are human casualties as at the time of filling this report.
The attack came a day after similar onslaught on Saho Rami market also in the local government.
Both the SSG and Commissioner of Local Government, Chieftaincy Affairs and Internal Security, Emmanuel Umar, confirmed the development.
