Three lawmakers in the Nasarawa State House of Assembly reportedly escaped death when bandits opened fire on their vehicles.
A security source said the lawmakers Samuel Tsebe, David Maiyaki and Peter Akwe, were attacked along Akwanga-Lafia road on Wednesday.
He said the lawmakers were approaching Wowyen village along Akwanga-Lafia road, just between the Mobile Police Training College at Ende hills, and the village towards the bridge, when the gunmen opened fire at their vehicle.
The source said one of the bullets pierced through the vehicle windscreen, but nobody was hit. He said the lawmakers narrowly escaped the attack.
The spokesperson of Nasarawa Police Command, Ramhan Nansel, confirmed the incident.
Akwe was said to have been at the front in his car, followed by Maiyaki, while Tsebe was behind — also in his own car — when the incident occurred.
