A police officer has been killed and three other persons injured when bandits attacked Hilltop International Premium Hotel at Tunga-Maje in the Gwagwalada Area of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
21st CENTURY CHRONICLE gathered that the incident happened at about 11pm on Tuesday.
A staff of the hotel, who pleaded anonymity, said the gunmen destroyed the hotel’s gate before gaining entrance to the premises, and engaged the policemen men on duty, killing one of them.
“They flogged us. People that were injured were those who lodged in our hotel,” he said.
FCT Police Command spokesperson, Josephine Adeh, confirmed the incident.
“Suspected kidnappers were carrying out their operations and our operatives foiled their attack and engaged them in a gun battle; unfortunately, one of our men paid the supreme price,” she said.
“One person was also injured.”
Bandits had in June 2021, invaded the same hotel and abducted a former member of the Kogi State House of Assembly, Friday Makama, and eight others.
