Bandits have abducted at least seven people and rustled an unknown number of cattle and other domestic animals in a Tuesday night attack on Tumburkai community in Katsina state.
A source told 21st CENTURY CHRONICLE Wednesday morning that the bandits didn’t kill or wound any resident but took away seven of them.
He said they came around 10:45pm and operated for over an hour.
“My neighbor was one of those picked. They shot guns but no one was wounded based on our assessment. I think it was because people ran out of the community to safety. They didn’t kill or wound anyone but they’ve taken seven people,” he said.
He said they conducted a house to house search obviously for cattle.
“We’re yet to ascertain the number of cattles and sheep they’ve taken yet,” he said.
The police spokesperson in the state, Gambo Isa, didn’t respond to calls and SMS sent to him on the attack.
