The Special Adviser to Governor Ahmed Aliyu of Sokoto State on Security Matters, Col. Ahmed Usman (rtd), has congratulated the immediate past Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa (rtd), on his appointment as the new Minister of Defence following the resignation of Alhaji Mohammed Badaru Abubakar.
In a congratulatory message issued to the press, Col. Usman described General Musa’s elevation as a well-earned recognition of his exceptional service, leadership qualities, and unwavering dedication to the unity and security of the nation.
According to him, the appointment comes at a crucial time when Nigeria requires experienced hands to steer its defence sector toward greater efficiency and impact.
He urged the new Minister of Defence to deploy his vast operational knowledge and strategic military experience to tackle the nation’s most pressing threats, including banditry, insurgency, kidnapping, and other emerging security challenges.
Col. Usman expressed optimism that General Musa’s track record of excellence would translate into renewed vigour within the armed forces and improved synergy among security agencies.
Col. Usman further stressed the importance of strengthening intelligence gathering, boosting troop morale, and prioritizing modern security technologies to outmatch criminal elements across the country.
He noted that the expectations of Nigerians are high, but so is his confidence that the new minister will not disappoint.
The Special Adviser reaffirmed the commitment of the Sokoto State Government to work closely with the Federal Ministry of Defence in the collective effort to protect lives and property.
He emphasized that Governor Ahmed Aliyu’s administration remains dedicated to supporting initiatives aimed at restoring peace, particularly in communities affected by banditry.
