Governor Aminu Bello Masari has banned motorists from plying two major roads linking the state with Zamfara, Sokoto and Kebbi states.
The roads are Jibia to Gurbin Baure and Kankara to Sheme. Commerical motorists are advised to follow Funtua road while private vehicles can still ply the Kankara-Sheme road.
In a statement personally signed by the governor, animals markets in Jibia, Batsari, Safana, Danmusa, Kankara, Malumfashi, Charanci, Mai adua, Kafur, Faskari, Sabuwa, Baure, Dutsin Ma and Kaita have also been banned.
Also banned are the transportation of cattle trucks from the state to anywhere in the country and conveying of firewood from the bushes.
Conveying of more than two people on a motorcycle, more than three on tricycle, sale of petroleum in jerrycans, second hand motorcycles in Charanci market have also been banned.
Mr. Masari also directed that only two designated fuel stations should sell commodity of not more than N5,000 per person in the frontline local government areas
While the reenforcement of the ban on commercial motorcycles and tricycles in the capital city would be between 10pm to 6am, those in the other local government areas would be between 6pm to 6am.
The directive takes into effect from Tuesday, August 31.
