Gov. Mohammed Bago, of Niger State has dissolved the state Universal Basic Education Board (NSUBEB) with immediate effect.
Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Abubakar Usman, announced this on Friday in Minna.
The SSG said the decision was part of the administration’s ongoing efforts to reposition and strengthen the education sector for enhanced efficiency, accountability and improved service delivery.
The SSH directed members of the dissolved Board, including the Secretary, to hand over all official documents, assets and responsibilities of the Board to the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education.
The governor expressed appreciation to the outgoing board members for their service and contributions to the growth and development of basic education in Niger and wished them success in their future endeavors.
