The National Chairman of the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP), Dr Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, joined other opposition coalition leaders to visit the African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential candidate and former Vice President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, GCFR, at his residence on Tuesday towards galvanising the opposition into a formidable force.
PRP spokesperson, Muhammed Ishaq, who announced this on Wednesday in Abuja, added that the delegation met with him and members of his campaign council.
He said the meeting was “a source of tremendous inspiration to the delegation,” adding that “the coalition plans to meet with other party leaders and candidates.
“Leaders of coalition parties, as well as others interested in joining, recognise the need to broaden and strengthen the coalition’s capacity to defeat the APC in 2027 and give Nigeria a new lease on life.”
The party also confirmed the arrest of young people wearing T-shirts bearing political messages.
He said “the coalition will take up the matter. Nigeria must not become a country where citizens are treated as hostages and released only when political conditions are met.”
