The talented artiste made history last week by becoming the second artist to have two No. 1 tracks off a debut album and the first female musician to record multiple No. 1 entries in Nigeria (Asake is the first).
This week’s Top 100 saw Asake’s “Joha” soar from No. 6 to a new peak of No. 2; “Joha” amassed 3.54 million streams (No. 4 on streaming) and 39.1 million in radio reach (No. 9 on radio). Asake, therefore, becomes the first artiste to have entries place in Nigeria’s top 2. The musician has the most No. 1 entries with six, plus “PALAZZO” and “Jaho,” which both peaked at No. 2, set the record.
After spending two weeks at the top of the Nigeria Top 100, Asake’s “Terminator” remains at No. 3 for another week.
While Asake’s “Organise” drops 2-5 places to No. 5, Pheelz & Davido’s “Electricity” remains at No. 4. The song stayed at No. 1 for a week.
Bandana by Fireboy DML & Asake drops to No. 5 from No. 1 after seven non-consecutive weeks there (joint-longest No. 1 of 2022).
While Asake’s “Dull” scores a 10-8 comeback, Bella Shmurda & Omah Lay’s “Philo” maintains its No. 7 peak for another week.
completing the top 10 for this week; While Oxlade’s “Ku Lo Sa – A” climbs 8-9, Wizkid’s “Bad To Me” falls 8-9.
Victony & Tempoe’s “Soweto,” which was formerly classified as an Afro-R&B song but is now charting under the Afro-Pop category after spending two weeks at No. 1 on the R&B chart, climbs to a new peak of No. 11 just outside the top ten.
This week’s Top 100 sees Young Jonn’s “Xtra Cool” leap from No. 25 to No. 13, however it is the first song to hold the top spot on the radio chart while finishing outside the top ten of the comparable aggregate chart.
