The wife of the first governor of old Kano State Audu Bako, Ladi Bako, is dead.
She died aged 93.
Her daughter Zainab Bako confirmed the death on Wednesday, saying the nonagenarian died at Prime Specialist Hospital in Kano after protracted illness.
She would be laid to rest at the Emir’s Palace, Kofar Kudu, Kano.
Her husband Commissioner of Police Audu Bako, was named military governor of the old Kano State from May 1967 to July 1975.
CP Audu Bako introduced many policies and built institutions throughout the state.
