Assistant Commissioner of Police, Emmanuel Idowu Asufi, attached to the Bayelsa State Police Command, has slumped and died while performing official duty on Tuesday.
ACP Asufi was in charge of administration at the state command.
He collapsed and died at the Police headquarters in Ovom community, Yenagoa.
The sudden death of the police chief threw the entire Bayelsa Police Command into shock.
On Wednesday, the mood was solemn in the command as many police personnel, who worked with the deceased, expressed shock over his sudden demise.
Police spokesperson in Bayelsa State, SP Asinim Butswat, said the demise of ACP Asufi, is sad for the command.
The deceased served as Chief Security Officer to the Bayelsa Government House and Commander of the State Security Outfit, Operation Door Akpor.
