Two suspected hired killers and the person who contracted them have been arrested by the Kebbi State Command of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).
NCSDC commandant, Suleman Ibrahim Mafara, while parading the suspects on Friday, said one Alhaji Mamman contracted the two suspects: Mande and Manu to kill one Gari Mamman of Lahore village in Suru local government area of Kebbi State.
He said the two suspected hired assassins were contracted for N80,000, but received payment of N60,000 from the contractor, adding that after the killers could not find their victim in his house on the night they came for him, they set the house ablaze.
Mafara said the NCSDC operatives found a dane gun in one of the killers’ house when a thorough search was conducted in their houses.
However, while responding to questions from journalists, Mamman said he did not hire them with a view to kill Gari Mamman but only to teach him a lesson.
