Senator Oyelola Yisa Ashiru (APC, Kwara) on Wednesday replaced Senator David Umahi as its new Deputy Leader of the Senate. Umahi was replaced after he was appointed as minister of Works and Housing by President Bola Tinubu.
Also appointed is Senator Nwebonyi Onyeka as the new Deputy Chief Whip of the Senate
Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, announced the new appointments at plenary.
Ashiru was the Deputy Chief Whip of the Senate.
He was made the deputy leader of the Senate which became vacant, following the appointment of Umahi as Minister.
