The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in Kaduna State during the 2023 general elections, Isa Mohammed Ashiru, has condemned the invasion of five communities and killing of nine villagers by gunmen on Thursday in southern Kaduna State.
He said, βThe massacre of nine innocent lives in Lakada and the kidnapping of 17 people in Fadan Ruruma on Thursday night are tragic reminders of the insecurity that has gripped our dear state.”
Ashiru in a statement on Sunday titled: ππ‘π Good of πππ¨π©π₯π π¨π πaduna State πππ¬ππ«π―π ππππππ«!, lamented that the people of Kauru and indeed many parts of Kaduna State have been left at the mercy of ruthless bandits, while the All Progressives Congress APC-led administration negotiates with them.
According to him, no week passes by that different communities were not attacked in their homes and farms and their property destroyed.
The former governorship candidate recalled that “Just last week, a young man was killed, another injured, and many more kidnapped in Akansa and Rumaya.
“Yet, those who swore an oath to protect the people remain indifferent.
“This is beyond politicsβit is about the sanctity of human life. How many more must die before the government wakes up to its responsibility?
“How many families must be displaced before real action is taken? The failure of this administration to provide security is a betrayal of the social contract between the government and the people.”
He condoled the grieving families of Lakada, Kakure, Kadi, Fadan Ruruma, and Densa communities in Kauru Local Government.
“To the families in mourning, may God grant you the strength to bear this irreparable loss. To those still in captivity, we pray for your safe return,” Ashiru said.
