The candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Ahmed Aliyu, has won the Governorship election in Sokoto state with a landslide margin.
Aliyu won the election with 49,029 votes.
He scored 453,661 votes as against the 404,632 votes received by the PDP’s candidate, Sa’idu Umar Ubandoma.
According to the results, Ahmed won in five local government areas while Ubandoma in 5 local government areas.
The returning officer, Professor Armaya’u Hamisu said said a Total of 879,776 votes were cast out which 15,357 were rejected.
He gave the total valid votes- at 864,419.
