The on-going membership registration and revalidation as a strategic measure to give members a sense of belonging is valid and in line with the constitution of Nigeria.
Caretaker chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Governor Mai Mala Buni said this in a statement by his spokesperson Mr. Mamman Mohammed on Thursday.
Buni who was replying a former interim chairman of the party Chief Bisi Akande who said the registration was indefensible aberration and a waste of resources, said the registration and revalidation would help the party to generate a valid, accurate and up-to-date data on party membership to enhance and support its planning process.
The governor recalled that the initial exercise was in 2014, and that the party has not registered new members nor updated the personal information of our existing members as provided for by the constitution.
