A former governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Sagir Salihu Takai, and Abdulsalam Zaura, who contested for Kano state governorship on the platform of the Green Party of Nigeria (GNP), have decamped to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) alongside hundred others in the state.
Kano State Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje handed over the decampees to Alhaji Farouk Adamu Aliyu, representative of APC acting national chairman Mai Mala Buni, at the APC mega rally in Kano on Saturday.
Others are Abba Risqua Murtala Mohammed, son of a former military head of state General Murtala Muhammad and the member representing Kiru/Bebeji federal constituency, Aliyu Datti Ahmed.
Also announced to have defected at the rally were 27 coordinators of the Kwankwasiyya movement, including Hajiya Binta Spikin, a former media aide to the leader of the Kwankwasiyya movement and former governor of Kano State, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso.
Ganduje said the decampees made the right decision by pitching tent with APC.
