The Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) has criticized the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for leading the country into chaos, insecurity and general economic deprivation.
The party made the condemnation in a communique issued on Monday after its second national delegates conference held from May 28 to 29, in Zaria, Kaduna State.
It described the two parties as a conglomeration that have successively ruled Nigeria under the 4th of retrogressive elements united by the collective pursuit of self- serving power and illegally acquired wealth thereby continuously raping state resources.
The PRP said there is no fundamental difference between the APC and the PDP in the self-serving manner they dominated the nation’s political system.
It said the country is sinking into a deepening social and economic crisis, adding that “Nigeria is at the crossroads of remaining under the grip of the unpatriotic, corrupt and retrogressive forces that have been responsible for ruining the social, economic and political
fortunes.
The party warned that Nigeria was being pushed to the precipice of national disintegration by the collective pursuit of self- serving power and illegally acquired wealth thereby continuously raping state
resources.
The communique said “the PRP is thus a viable alternative to the ideologically barren politicians occupying state power in Nigeria. The PRP is the only ideologically oriented political Party that is built on a clearly defined foundation of leading the country along the path of independent development, unity, nation-building and the quest for the common prosperity of all Nigerians.
“We therefore call on all Nigerians, regardless of ethnic, religious or political differences to unite behind our great party in order to put Nigeria on the path to regaining its lost glory.
“As Nigeria inches closer to the 2023 Presidential and General Elections, we call on Nigerians to vote for a meaningful change by supporting the candidates of the People’s Redemption Party in all
elections.
It also said it rejects what it terms the arbitrary manner the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has gone about deregistering political parties which amounts to the denial of human and democratic rights of Nigerians to freedom of association. It
further amounts to deliberate disenfranchisement of Nigerian citizens.
“In preparation for the tasks ahead, the second National Delegates Conference (NDC) of the PRP has undertaken to pursue a process of national reconciliation and comprehensive reorganization of its party structures from the grassroots to Local Government, State and National levels,” the communique noted.
