All Progressives Congress (APC) has felicitated with the newly elected President General of the Igbo socio-cultural organization, Ohaneze Nd’Igbo.
A statement by Senator John Akpanu Udodehe said the party’s National Secretary, Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee in Abuja also congratulated the immediate past leader Chief Jim Nwodo for a successful tenure.
Chief George Obiozor emerged the new leader of the Ohaneze Nd’Igbo. He succeeds Chief Nwodo whose tenure expired on Saturday January 9, 2021.
Amb. Obiozor garnered 304 votes to defeat his rival Valentine Oparaocha to win the contest which took place at the Dan Anyiam Stadium in Owerri, Imo State.
Three other contestants had contestants – Chukwunyere Nwaebo, Goddy Uwazuruike and Uju Okoro – stepped down for Obiozor before voting commenced.
