Progressive Governors Forum (PGF) has passed a vote of confidence on the Mai Mala Buni-led Caretaker and Extra-ordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC) of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC.
PGF under the chairmanship of Governor Abubakar Bagudu of Kebbi State said the Buni-led committee has been a stabilizing force for the party at a critical period.
The “vote of confidence is imperative to encourage the leadership of the party to continue its strides in piloting her to its next level,” PGF noted through a statement by APC publicity office in Abuja on Thursday.
It also commended members of the caretaker committee for their outstanding performance in rebuilding the party.
“It would be recalled that the CECPC of the party under the leadership of Governor Buni was put in place to strengthen the ruling party in the face of some challenges.
“The Yobe State Governor and his CECPC Committee members have succeeded in attracting serving and former Governors, Senators, House of Representatives members as well as other notable opposition figures to the party. They have also helped in stabilizing the All Progressives Congress and midwife a successful membership drive to make the party the biggest in Africa,” it said.
Buni-led APC was inaugurated after the dissolution of Mr Adams Oshiomhole-led National Working Committee (NWC).
It was mandated to reconcile aggrieved persons and prepare the party for its national convention.
The committee’s six-month tenure is supposed to end this month, after an initial extension of six month on December 8, 2020.
