The Deputy National Chairman (North) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Senator Abubakar Kyari, and seven other members of the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) held a meeting on Monday at the National headquarter of the party on Blantyre Streets, Wuse 2, Abuja.
Kyari came in with the Deputy National Chairman (South) Emma Enukwu; National Vice Chairman (North West) Salihu Lukman; National Vice Chairman (North East) Salihu Mustapha; National Vice Chairman (North Central) Muazu Bawa; National Vice Chairman (South West) Issacs Kekemeke; National Vice Chairman (South East) Ejoroma Arodiogu and the Deputy National Secretary, Barrister Festus Fuanter
Details of the meeting were yet to be made public as at the time of this report as no official statement has categorically said Kyari was heading and presiding over the meeting with the others.
Senator Abdullahi Adamu and Senator Iyiola Omisore were reported to have tendered their resignation as national Chairman and national Secretary respectively Sunday in the evening.
At the National Secretariat of the party, the official car of Kyari was parked at the spot of that of the National Chairman.
Senator Adamu has refrained from speaking on the development, preferring to do so when President Bola Ahmwed Tinubu returns from the African Union meeting.
Security has been beefed up around the national secretariat of the party with those driving into Blantyre Street, where the party headquarters is located, are checked while passers-by are also stopped for questioning.
