APC national chairman Senator Abdullahi Adamunhas resigned.
His resignation was confirmed to 21st CENTURY CHRONICLE by a source inside the ruling party’s headquarters in Abuja on Monday.
The source said, “it is true that national chairman has resigned from office. He did it yesterday (Sunday).”
However, Senator Adamu, in an interview with Daily Trust on Monday, didn’t refute or confirm the resignation.
He said he would only speak when President Bola Tinubu returns from the African Union (AU) meeting in Nairobi, Kenya.
“I won’t talk about the issue because the president is away,” Mr Adamu told the newspaper.
Senator Adamu’s resignation is coming hours before the National Caucus and NEC meetings of the party to iron out critical issues affecting it and the crisis within the National Working Committee (NWC).
The meetings were earlier scheduled for July 10 and 11, but postponed to today, July 18 and 18.
