Fourteen days to the national convention of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), the Senator Abdullahi Adamu-led National Reconciliation Committee is yet to submit its final report.
On January 31, Adamu submitted an interim report to Governor Mai Mala Buni- led Caretaker Committee, and demanded that more time be given to his committee to conclude its assignment.
Giving reasons why the committee requires more time, Adamu said more petitions were still being submitted, adding that it would not augur well for the party if justice is to be done to those who are aggrieved.
The committee was constituted in September 2021 and mandated to resolve the contentious issues and unite members before the convention.
Presenting the report to the national leadership of the party in Abuja, Adamu said the committee received 47 petitions from aggrieved members and still counting hence the need for the extension.
Crises are still raging in Kano, Osun, Ogun, Gombe, Kwara, among others.
