Chairman of the Northern Elders Forum (NEF), Ango Abdullahi’s son, Sadiq has reportedly emerged as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)’s candidate for the Sabon Gari federal constituency.
According to the Daily Trust, Sadiq Ango Abdullahi won the election despite being in the custody of bandits.
He was said to be among the abducted passengers of the ill-fated Abuja-Kaduna train which was attacked by terrorists in Kateri-Rijana area of Kaduna State on March 28.
The report said Sadiq won with 28 votes to defeat other aspirants such as Hadiza Muhammad, Salisu Abdulhamid and Misis Paulina.
On February 5, Sadiq announced that he has officially joined the PDP in his official Twitter handle- @sadiqango.
“Today 5th Feb 2022, after extensive consultations. I am delighted to announce that I have officially joined the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
“I wish to thank the leadership and members of the party for fully accepting me and my supporters with much needed love and enthusiasm,” he had announced in the tweet.
