The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) candidate, Prof Charles Soludo is leading other contestants in the governorship election in Anambra State.
Soludo has cleared 10 out of the 11 local governments declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) so far in the ongoing poll.
Anambra has a total of 21 local government areas.
The candidate of the Young Progressives Party (YPP) Senator Ifeanyi Ubah, won in one of the local governments.
However, candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Senator Andy Uba and the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Mr Valentine Ozigbo are yet to win in any of the results declared so far.
Earlier, INEC’s Resident Electoral Commissioner, Dr Nkwachukwu Orji, in his address announced Vice-Chancellor, University of Calabar, Prof. Florence Obi as the returning officer for the process.
Returning officers for the political parties include Mr Chibuzor Obiakor – APC, Dr Alex Obiogbolu – PDP, and Senator Victor Umeh – APGA among others.
