About 150 northerners travelling in a truck from Zamfara State have been detained in Bodija market in Oyo State by the Amotekun security agency.
The northerners were en route Ogere, in Ogun State.
However, 10 of the northerners ran off after sighting Amotekun personnel.
The northerners which include men, women and children, were heading for the Bodija market in the truck loaded with bags of onions, beans, potatoes and motorcycles.
It was learnt that Amotekun detained the travellers at Dandaru in Ibadan, where they interrogated the traders and subsequently ordered the off load of the truck for searching.
Driver of the truck, with number plate, Abuja BWR 143 XD, Abdullahi Aliu, said he was transporting the goods and travellers to Ogere, Ogun State, and only offloaded some at Bodija market.
Aliu said not all the passengers are traders, adding that he assisted some of them on the journey because they did not have transport fare.
