A Nollywood actor, Olanrewaju Omiyinka (Baba Ijesha) has been granted bail by a Special Offences and Domestic Violence Court sitting in the Ikeja area of Lagos on Thursday.
The defendant is facing a six-count charge bordering on indecent treatment of a child, sexual assault, attempted sexual assault by penetration and sexual assault by penetration.
He was granted bail in the sum of N2 million with two sureties.
The court also held that one of the sureties must be a blood relation, resident in Lagos, and must have a tax clearance certificate of three years preceding today.
It said such a relation must also make a monetary bond of N1 million to the chief registrar of the court.
The other surety must be a legal practitioner whose call to bar certificate must be verified by the court.
The actor has seven days to perfect the bail but was released Thursday to the head of the legal team, Babatunde Ogala, SAN.
The court then adjourned to the 26, 27 and 28 of July for the prosecution to open its case against the defendant.
