Ondo State Governor Rotimi Akeredolu has called on the All Progressives Congress (APC) to adhere to the established principle on power rotation between the North and South.
In a statement on Tuesday, the governor said having successful held a ranco-free national convention, where party leadership have emerged, the party should come out with a categorical statement zoning the presidency to the South.
“It is the turn of the Southern part of the country to produce the next President. The party leadership should have no difficulty in making pronouncement on this very important issue, just as it has fixed various fees for the purchase of forms. This must be done without delay,” he noted.
He warned the party leadership against taking contrary decision on the delicate issue, noting that such development could lead another round of bickering “which holds the potential promise of causing distrust and militating against cohesion, harmony and the zeal to achieve set objectives.”
