A helicopter belonging to the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has crashed in the early hours of Monday at Tami village, Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
21st CENTURY CHRONICLE gathered that the pilot survived the incident that occurred at approximately 5:00 on Monday.
The cause of the crash remains uncertain, but eyewitnesses reported that the pilot emerged from the wreckage unhurt.
“A loud sound was heard as we were about to pray subhi prayer, so we rushed to the scene. We were happy to see the pilot alive. The helicopter belonging to the Air Force crashed at a place called Rungi but under Tami village,” he said.
A villager, who pleaded for anonymity, said residents gathered at the crash site, offering assistance where possible and expressing relief that no lives were lost.
According to him, a team of Nigerian Air Force personnel visited the scene to secure the area as villagers watched from a distance.
The Nigerian Air Force has yet to release an official statement regarding the incident as of the time of filing the report.
