The Maryam Abacha American University of Nigeria (MAAUN) remains the cheapest private University in Nigeria, even as it is ranked the second best private university in the country.
The News Agency of Nigeria ( NAN) reports that the founder of the university, Prof. Adamu Gwarzo, disclosed on Tuesday in Kano this during the first Convocation Luncheon for the Class of 2025 graduating students of the institution.
Gwarzo reassured parents and guardians of the institution’s strong commitment to quality education and academic excellence at an affordable cost.
He also advised them to channel any grievances through the university’s management for timely resolution rather than taking issues to social media.
Earlier, the President of the university, Prof. Mohammad Israr, welcomed parents, students and guests, describing the event as a historic milestone for MAAUN.
The Vice‑President (Administration), Dr Habib Abubakar, congratulated the graduating students and thanked all the attendees.
In his goodwill message, Prof. Mahamouda Salouhou, Director of the European Centre for Leadership and Entrepreneurship Education, praised Gwarzo for establishing the university.
He stated that the initiative would inspire further investments in education.
The director also congratulated parents for choosing MAAUN, which had Memorada of Understanding with leading universities in the United States.
Prof. Hakeim Ibukunle of Morgan State University, Baltimore, Maryland, USA, also delivered a goodwill message, congratulating the graduates and parents on the milestone and commending Gwarzo for his dedication to advancing education in Nigeria and beyond.
Speaking separately, some parents, Alhaji Sa’idu Bello and Abdulrahaman Bawa, thanked the founder, management and staffers for mentoring the students and congratulated the graduates for successfully completing their studies.
