The kidnapper’s hideout located in the Lakoun community, along the Ayegun-Olojuoro road in Ibadan has been pulled down by the Oyo State Government on Monday.
The structure was identified as the house where the younger sister of former Minister of Power, Chief Adebayo Adelabu, Mrs Olaide Adegoke John-Paul, and her 12-year-old twin sons were hidden before their rescue at the weekend.
An Oyo-based local media platform, Oyo Affairs, shared the video of the demolition on X on Monday, where wrote, “the Oyo State Government has demolished kidnappers’ den at Lakoun, Ayegun-Olojuoro road, Ibadan, where the sister of former Minister Adebayo Adelabu and her children were held captive.”
The Oyo State Commissioner of Police, Oluwagbemiga Abimbola, on Sunday made a high-powered security assessment of the site, prompting the destruction of the house on Monday.
Another social media platform, Oyo Matters, displayed more photos and a video of the demolition on X, writing, “Oyo Government demolishes building used as kidnappers’ hideout in Adelabu Family Abduction, levels property to the ground.”
Two members of the kidnapping gang involved in the abduction were killed during the rescue operation on Saturday, as four other suspects were arrested and paraded on Sunday at the State Police Headquarters in Eleyele, Ibadan.
