The Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) has urged Nigerian military to continue its “patriotic duty” of defending the country, as Nigeria cannot be surrendered to insurgents.
In a statement by its National Chairman, Audu Ogbeh, also the ACF thanked the Armed Forces for standing firmly behind the Nigerian government as it “fights the twin evils of insurgency and terrorism.”
While felicitating with Nigerians on the occasion of the country’s 61st Independence anniversary, the Forum said it stands behind President Muhammadu Buhari and the 36 state governors as they try to mend “a broken country.”
It prayed that God grant them the courage and wisdom to take the right decisions that will get the Nigeria out of its security quagmire.
The forum called on the Armed Forces to stand firmly behind the government “for the days of the bandits and insurgents are numbered”.
“Victory for our gallant forces is around the corner. We cannot just surrender this beautiful country called Nigeria to criminals, bandits, insurrectionist and secessionist,” the statement said.
The Forum thanked Nigerians, particularly those who have kept faith in the country, as it faces an historically most difficult time since becoming independent.
