The Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) has constituted a high-powered Endowment Fund Management Committee, nominating the Chairman of its Kano State chapter, Dr. Goni Faruk Umar, alongside other prominent Nigerians to drive the initiative.
In a statement issued on Thursday and signed by the ACF Kano chapter stockperson, Nasiru Yusuf Ibrahim, the forum said the committee is tasked with overseeing the management and administration of its endowment fund, a key financial mechanism aimed at sustaining its programmes and long-term objectives.
The committee has retired Inspector General of Police, Mohammed D. Abubakar, as chairman, with former Plateau State Governor, Simon Lalong, as Vice Chairman.
Other members include renowned businesswoman Amina Dantata, elder statesman Kashim Ibrahim Imam, former Minister Suleiman Adamu, diplomat Tijjani Bande, and former Minister Aliyu Idi Hong.
Also on the list are Yerima Lawal Ngama, as well as respected legal practitioners Dakas I. Dakas and Joe-Kyari Gadzama, among others drawn from both the public and private sectors. Usman Kukasheka has been appointed Secretary of the committee, while Maimuna Yaya Abubakar will serve as Assistant Secretary.
The ACF said the committee is expected to mobilise resources, ensure transparency and accountability in the management of the fund.
It said the inclusion of Dr. Goni Faruk Umar and other distinguished personalities underscores the forum’s commitment to leveraging experience, integrity, and broad-based expertise to strengthen its institutional capacity and effectiveness.
