The Abuja -Kaduna passenger train has derailed for the second time within two weeks, leaving hundreds of commuters stranded.
The train derailed at Ashan station on Wednesday minutes after it left the Kubwa station in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
The incident happened at about 3:52 pm, it was learned.
“Passengers are currently stranded as there are no signs of authorities being notified,” one of the passengers told journalists by telephone.
On May 26, a train that departed Rigasa station in Kaduna for Abuja derailed in a mountainous area near Jere.
Three carriages were said to have gone off the tracks, but there were no casualties.
