With the ruling of the Supreme Court recognising the Rotimi Amaechi-led faction of the All Progressives Congress APC in Rivers State, Senator Magnus Abe, who leads the other faction, is considering the possibility of moving to a new political party.
Abe disclosed this at a news conference in Port Harcourt on Saturday, further directing that all parallel offices opened by his faction of 3 APC should be closed.
The former senator thanked the APC members who he said have been resolute in their demand for justice fairness and internal democracy within the party.
He said he and his followers will be watching carefully events undertaken by the party as relate to the resolution of the crisis in the coming days.
Abe, however, said “It is clear that there are other political options for achieving our desires.”
He welcomes the Supreme Court judgement and also congratulated Isaac Abbot-Ogbogbula as the duly recognized Chairman of the party in the state, but urged the national leadership of the APC to consolidate on the verdict of the Supreme Court and bring lasting peace to the party.
