Governor of Katsina State, Dikko Umar Radda, has declared Friday a public holiday day.
The state Commissioner for Information and Culture, Dr Bala Salisu Zango, said in a statement on Tuesday in Katsina
“Katsina State Government decision to declare Friday as work free day follow the good gesture of Federal Government for extending Ed-fitr public holidays to Thursday 11th of this month,” the statement read in part.
Zango said the governor had taken the step to enable workers in the state fully enjoy the ED-ELFITR Sallah celebration with their families.
The Federal Government had earlier declared a two-day public holiday for the Eid-el-Fitr celebrations and had to add a third day due to the lack of sighting of the moon of Shawwal, taking the holiday to Thursday.
