Three youths tragically passed away after ingesting expired drugs in Kabala Doki Community in Kaduna North Local Government of Kaduna State on Tuesday.
21st CENTURY CHRONICLE gathered that the origin of the drugs remains murky as two other youths are hospitalized at a hospital in the community.
Confirming the incident on Tuesday, the Ward Head of Kabala Doki, Danlami Bawa, described it as profoundly unfortunate.
He gave the names of the three victims as Abdulsalam Lawal, Muhammed Auwal Abubakar, and Ibrahim Kabiru.
He further disclosed that one of the victims, before passing away, admitted to consuming the expired drugs and distributing the remainder among their peers.
Bawa emphasized that they have alerted other youths in the community, especially those who may have obtained the expired drugs, to return them immediately to prevent further tragedies.
ASP Mansur Hassan, the Public Relations Officer of the state Police command, confirmed the incident but stated that investigations are ongoing to ascertain the cause of their demise.
