Acting Inspector-General of Police, Usman Alkali Baba, on Thursday ordered the immediate disbanding of the IGP’s Monitoring Satellite offices in Lagos and Port Harcourt.
The IGP disclosed this at his first meeting with states police commissioners and zonal Assistant Inspectors General of Police (AIGs) in Abuja.
He said the IGP Monitoring Units as a whole will be re-organised.
The IGP action was informed by incessant complaints against the units about harassment and operating beyond their briefs.
